Our Club is proud to announce the formation of a new branch in the Cairns region following successful membership recruitment at the Cairns Home, Boating and Caravan Expo last month.
Our Club’s 51st branch, the ACC Rainforest Ramblers, has taken off with a running start boasting an initial 34 members. The branch will service RVers in Far North Queensland from Cooktown to the Cassowary Coast including Cairns, Kuranda, the Atherton Tablelands and their surrounds.
“Our Club is very proud to announce the formation of our new branch in the Cairns region,” said our ACC Chairman Craig. “The formation of the Rainforest Ramblers is the result of the invaluable efforts of dedicated Club members from our Tropical Tourers branch based in Townsville who staffed a stall at the Cairns Expo.”
“Congratulations to our Tropical Tourers for a job well done. I also congratulate the members of our new ACC Rainforest Ramblers and its inaugural executive of Edwin (Eddie) Wickham (President), Andrea Volpi (Secretary) and Jan Verdon (Treasurer). This branch is bursting with enthusiasm and I look forward to watching it grow,” Craig said.
Inaugural President Eddie said that the branch had a long list of suggestions for upcoming musters following a recent ‘meet and greet’. “We are busy planning our first muster for August at the Fishery Falls Caravan Park just South of Cairns,” he said.
“Our group focus is very much about fun, friendship and adventure within the recreational vehicle community. Bearing that in mind, we have some great ideas for future musters including Undara, Charters Towers, Chillagoe, Mareeba and Karumba to name but a few.”
“We just can’t wait to get out there and enjoy our RVs together. We invite RVers living in Far North Queensland wishing to make enquiries about joining our new branch to contact the ACC on 1800 734 493,” Eddie said.
