ACC and Queensland Police presents to Combined Caravan Clubs of Queensland State rally on road safety issues.

Tom Smith and Terry Ryan both members of the Australian Caravan Club and are on the National Policy Team at the CCCQ State rally this week spoke on road safety initiatives for Rv's. This was in conjunction with the Qld Police.

The presentation included the issues of weights, van signage, pilot vehicles and wideloads and other related topics.
Currently there are more than 650,000 recreational vehicles registered in Australia, with up to 20,000 additional units being registered annually. Of these, it is estimated that more than 250,000 are travelling across the northern states of Australia during the winter months with an estimated 150,000 on the road at any other time during the year.
With these numbers on the road it is important that all RV travellers understand the issues to allow all road users safe travel as they move about this great country.
The ACC thanks the Qld Police and the CCCQ for the opportunity and looks forward to many more combined activities to support members and the broader RV travellers.
